Inflammatory bowel disease serologies in ankylosing spondylitis patients: a pilot study

A study posted on the Arthritis Research & Therapy website (arthritis-research.com/) concludes that, "mucosal dysregulation as an important pathway in AS" when looking at the gut and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Connections between IBD and AS have been heavily investigated, and the authors state that, in this study, "intestinal inflammation in AS is similar to Crohn's disease."
